We have realized a full line of content services by taking advantage of the content aggregation know-how we have cultivated since our founding. Currently we offer a wide variety of content services—including broadcasting, theatrical releases, broadband distribution, and mobile phone-related services. We plan to continue improving and expanding our content business to become one of the primary innovators in the industry.

The Broadmedia Group is working to realize a full line of content services. Our business-targeted services include Japanese subtitling/dubbing production (post-production), video production?, and content procurement/provision. As a content distributor, we cover a full range of content-related needs, including theatrical distribution, manufacturing and sales of videos and DVDs, rental services, terrestrial television broadcasting, and CS broadcasting services. Consumer-oriented services are centered onVOD (Video On Demand) services using a broadband Internet connection. For foreign content, we obtainall-rights contractsand provide all of the necessary services—from Japanese subtitling/dubbing to distribution and provision of the content to customers.

Content Aggregation and Broadband Distribution (Content Services Division)

Taking advantage of the content aggregation expertise we have acquired since our founding, we are working with Broadmedia Studios Corporation to supply businesses—both in and outside of the SoftBank Group—with video content procured from domestic and international content holders. We also offer a video distribution service targeting PC-users through which we provide broadband distribution to subscribers of our own service or affiliated businesses such as Internet Service Providers/Portals.

Club iT Arena [Video streaming] We offer unique content with a focus on foreign and domestic drama/animated series

[Cross-Media Promotion] We are engaged in cross-media promotion, starting with broadband distribution. After obtaining exclusive rights of distribution in Japan for TV shows produced internationally and yet to be aired domestically, we produce the Japanese versions, and then distribute them on broadband. In addition, we aim to maximize the lifetime value of the content by promotion through various other forms of media such as publications, broadcasting, and DVDs.

[Example of Cross-Media Promotion] We have succeeded in the cross-media promotion (publications/broadcasting/DVDs) of the Latin-American drama “Olvidarte Jamas” (“Always On My Mind”), starting with digital distribution onClub iT Arena.

Film Distribution Business(Broadmedia Studios Corporation)

We purchase all-rights contracts to obtain all usage rights for motion pictures. The first of these acquisitions wasGrindhouse, which debuted in theaters in late August 2007.

Production Business(Broadmedia Studios Corporation)

We perform video production and Japanese subtitling/dubbing of foreign works. We have created Japanese versions of television series, documentaries, animation, and films from major Hollywood studios such as NBC Universal, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), and 20th Century Fox.

We provide broadcasting-related services for individual users, with a focus on CS broadcasting. Our currentContent Services businessand Network Salesare based on the network of agencies, content aggregation know-how, and marketing know-how that we cultivated through our beginning business—the CS Broadcasting Service business.

CS Broadcasting Business

With respect to Sky Perfect TV! viewers, we engage in planning/operation services for a member organization (Club iT) that provides a number of unique services, including free rental of CS tuner antennas and the delivery of a Program Guide-oriented magazine.

Fishing Vision(Fishing Vision Co., Inc.)

The program-supplying broadcaster, Fishing Vision, Inc., manages the only fishing channel in Japan that broadcasts different types of fishing-related programs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It can be viewed via the CS broadcasting service Sky Perfect TV! and cable television throughout Japan.

All of the group’s business divisions are working together to incorporate services in the mobile arena. We are working to develop mobile services that make use of the group’s content and technology services.

Hollywood Channel(Hollywood Channel Inc.) “Hollywood Channel” is a mobile phone site managed by Hollywood Channel Inc. It provides a variety of film-related information—updates on new films and TV dramas, information on stars that are visiting Japan, press conferences, etc. Hollywood Channel is an official mobile site available through the three major mobile operators (NTT DoCoMo, au, and SoftBank).
